What is Bark Verified and how does it work?

Bark Verified is your badge of trust on the platform. Included in all paid plans—Starter, Essential, and Premium—it shows clients that you're a legitimate, vetted business, making them more likely to reach out and hire you.

Once your subscription is active, complete the following checks to get verified:

CheckWhat it involves
Identity confirmationVerified with photo ID and face recognition
Background checkComprehensive vetting for added assurance
Fraud preventionActive and fraudulent card checks completed
Business registrationConfirmed if operating as a registered company

Please note, Bark Verified is only available on paid plans. It is not available on the free tier.

What documents are accepted?

You'll need to submit one of the following government-issued photo ID documents:

  • Passport
  • Driver's licence
  • National identity cardimage.png

The document must be valid, not expired, and clearly show your full name and photo. Make sure the image you upload is well-lit and easy to read.

Please note, the name on your document must match the name on your Bark account. If they don't match, your verification may be unsuccessful.

How do I get Bark Verified?

To start your verification, go to the Credentials section of your profile.

1. Go to your profile at bark.com/professional/profile-management.

2. Click Credentials in the left menu.

3. Click Get Bark Verified.

4. Follow the steps to submit your photo ID and complete the checks.

Once all checks are complete, the Bark Verified badge will show on your profile automatically.

You can also access Bark Verified from Plan & pricing, where it's listed alongside your plan features.

How long does verification take?

Verification typically takes up to 3 business days. You'll receive an email confirmation once your verification is complete.

If you haven't heard back after 3 business days, please contact us and we'll check on the status for you.

Why did my verification fail?

If your verification was unsuccessful, here are the most common reasons:

  • The document you submitted was expired, unclear, or damaged
  • The name on the document didn't match your Bark account name
  • The document type submitted isn't accepted for verification
  • The image uploaded was blurry or too dark to read

What if my verification was unsuccessful?

You can resubmit at any time from the same Credentials section. Before resubmitting, check that:

  • Your document is valid and not expired
  • The name on your document matches your Bark account name
  • Your document type is accepted:
    • Passport
    • Driver's licence
    • National identity card
  • Your uploaded image is clear, well-lit, and easy to read
