What do you need help with?

What should I do if I receive spam enquiries?

If you're receiving messages from businesses trying to promote their own services rather than genuine client enquiries, here's what to do.

What counts as spam?

Spam enquiries are messages that aren't genuine job requests, for example, businesses advertising their own services, automated marketing messages, or contacts that have nothing to do with the service you offer.

If you receive a message you're unsure about, contact us, and we'll help you determine whether it qualifies as spam.

Report it to us

The quickest way to deal with spam is to report it to our team. When you get in touch, please include:

  1. The name of the business or sender
  2. A screenshot or copy of the message
  3. The date you received it

Contact us

What happens after you report

Our Trust and Safety team will review your report and investigate. If the contact is found to be spam or in breach of our guidelines, we'll take action on the account ,this may include removing the profile or suspending the sender.

We aim to review all reports as quickly as possible and will update you on the outcome.

How to reduce spam going forward

Keeping your enquiry settings accurate helps reduce the chance of receiving irrelevant contacts. Check that:

  • Your service categories only include what you genuinely offer
  • Your service area is set to where you actually work

Making your settings more specific helps ensure the right clients find you. How do I manage my enquiry settings?

Please note: Bark's platform is designed for clients to contact professionals, not for businesses to market their own services. Any contact that violates this is against our Terms and Conditions and may result in account suspension or removal.
